As soon as I found out that there were fourteen copies of Once Upon a Time in the West available for checkout at the Tacoma Public Library, I heard a buzz, buzz, buzz, and then the sound stopped.

This film was a real chore for me to watch. It was too slow. The opening scene of the cowboys waiting at the train station set the film’s pace. I knew it was going to be very slow going when a fly landed on the face of one of the men, and he was too lazy to swish it off. I didn’t even get excited about the plot until the scene where we learned why Charles Bronson’s character was named “Harmonica”. The end did not come fast enough.

I gave this movie a rating of 2 stars
